It allows you to convert the modular storage compartment to a 3 flap compartment with the included partition divider, creating 3 separate pouches that can be closed with either velcro or the included fastex buckles, primarily designed for magazines. It will also accommodate smoke grenades or other similar sized items including medical kit etc.
