The KYDEX INSERT (3 PACK) is intended to be placed in the Kangaroo 3 mag insert, which is included in the CAS plate carrier and our 3 mag placard. The insert give both positive retention of your mags, as well as keeps fabric open for easy re-insertion of magazines into the pouch. The inserts fit both 5.56 and 7.62 mags.

These mag inserts address a simple problem with a simple solution. I would say that these are about the same level of retention as an elastic based pouch when installed in a normal nylon mag pouch. Definitely better value than other brands that do the same thing for a much higher price. Overall construction is solid and there’s nothing to really break or go wrong.
